There is nothing for our eyes to gaze at, our ears to listen to or our hands to touch, yet we feel a presence, a vibration, an energy. What visions does the perception of an inexplicable world prompt in us? What fears? What hopes? What desires? converse – worlds questions the tangible and the intangible reality, the visible and the invisible, the concrete and the
ethereal.
Fascinated by what lies beyond his grasp, Guilherme Botelho made a daring gamble: to choreograph images of things invisible in order to confront us with the awe of mystery. converse worlds, the latest creation by Alias company, presents us with bodies that look as troubling on the stage as those of unknown animals would in a dark forest. Although the bodies are hidden from view, the spectator is able to discern fragments of dances and to follow the traces of energy left by the movements. A subtle lighting – designed by Yann Marussich – and previously unreleased music by Murcof complete the choreography : the concerted effort of three accomplished sorcerers.
